Dennis Orcollo Runner-up in US 9-Ball Open

Veteran Filipino pool player Dennis Orcollo was declared as the runner-up of the recently held United States 9-Ball Open at the Holiday Inn in Virginia on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) after he was defeated by Shane Van Boening of the US.

The US veteran billiard player, Shane Van Boening, dominated the former world number 1 pool player as he was able to score 13-7 in the finals of the tournament.

During the early days of the elimination, Dennis Orcollo defeated fellow Filipino Efren “Bata” Reyes with a score of 11-8, followed by a victory against Filipino-based Canadian player Alex Pagulaya with 11-7 scorecards.

The winner of the tournament Van Boening was undefeated throughout the tournament after he routed Pagulayan also with an 11-5 scores.

With Dennis Orcollo’s win he pocketed the second top prize amounting to $15,000 while Pagulayan and Reyes brought home a total of $10,000 and $6,00o respectively.

The winner of the tournament Van Boening received a total of $25,000.00 and crowned as 2012 US 9-Ball-Open.
