There are numerous queries already regarding the lists of upcoming holidays in the Philippines for November 2012. People were asking if the date October 31 and November 2 were part of the holidays. The government have already released the Philippine Holidays last January 2012.
Last year, 2011, the date October 31 was declared as a special non-working holiday by Malacanang Palace. Although the All Saint’s Day on November 1 was already declared as a regular holiday and the November 2, the All Souls Day was declared an additional non-working holiday based upon Proclamation No. 295.
There’s no confirmation yet regarding the October 31 date if it will be declared as a holiday, it depends upon the President. Last year, October 31 was declared as a holiday a few days before the vacation.
During last year’s declaration of holidays, the date from October 31 to November 2 gave a long weekend to the Filipinos. If the same scenario will happen again this year’s celebration of the All Soul’s Day, then we will be having a 5-day vacation which includes Saturday and Sunday.
We will keep this post updated as soon as announcement will be made.
Updates:
According to Malacanang, they are not keen on declaring October 31 as a holiday. Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said the four-day long weekend from November 1 to 4 is enough for the public to visit their beloved dead.
