US and Jamaica Won in 2014 World Cup Qualifiers

The United States and Jamaica won against their respective opponents for the 2014 World Cup Qualifying. The US was led by Tottenham striker Clint Dempsey who scored to 2 goals against Guatemala.

The United States defeated Guatemala with the final score at 3-1 on Tuesday and into the next year’s North American final round of the 2014 World Cup Qualifying.

The Jamaican National Football team on the other hand defeated Antigua and Barbuda with the final score at 4-1 to advance at the expense of Guatemala.

The United States and Jamaica will complete the list of finalists which includes Honduras, Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico for the Confederation of North, Central American and Carribean (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation Football (CONCACAF).

There will be three CONCACAF teams that will advance to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Clint Dempsey was even quoted as saying that the US squad needs to improve away from home in order to avoid pushing qualifying fights to the final match.

Guatemala international football star Carlos Ruiz made the lone goal for his home team that took the lead during the early minutes of the game. He scored at around 5th minutes. His scored was answered by US Captain Carlos Bocanegra at around 10th minutes.

On Jamaica game against Antigua and Barbuda, Dane Richards scored two goals at 78th and 88th minutes, the other goals came from Demar Phillips at around 16th minutes and Nyron Nosworthy at 17th.

Jamaica advanced to the Final Qualifying Round of the CONCACAF although they were tied with 3-2 win-loss card but Jamaica moved on due to superior goal difference.
