Donaire vs. Nishioka Boxing Match Preview: World Junior Featherweight Title

The long wait is over, as the Filipino Flash, Nonito Donaire is set to conquer his Japanese opponent Toshiaki Nishioka for the IBF & WBO Junior Featherweight world title. At 122 pounds, the title is also equivalent to the WBC Super Bantamweight division.

The game will be held a the Home Depot Center in Carson City California on October 13, 2012 at around 7 PM (EST).

Nonito Donaire will face one of his best opponents in the 122 pounds category as he will go up against a former champion of the WBC Super Bantamweight Division, Japanese superstar Toshiaki Nishioka.

The Japanese Nishioka was nicknamed as the “Speed King” after he successfully depended his previous title after he ruled the WBC Super Bantamweight Division.

He defeated Genaro Garcia in 2009 via 12th round TKO, defeated Jhonny Gonzales with a TKO also. He had beaten the likes of Rendall Munroe, Mauricio Javier Munoz and Rafael Marquez.

Donaire will defend his title as one of the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world and will put his WBO and IBF Junior Featherweight belt at stake.

The Filipino Flash Donaire is considered as one of the toughest boxers in the world today based upon his undefeated records for the past 11 years with 28 straight wins. Donaire have beaten famous names in boxing which includes Fernando Montiel, Vic Darchinyan and Jeffrey Mathebulah to name a few.

The Japanese Nishioka on his part will be fighting for the first time in the United States unlike the veteran Donaire who has been a well-known figures in the US boxing scene.

Aside from the Donaire vs. Nishioka boxing clashes, the other main event of the evening was a title fight between World Lightweight Champion Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios as he will take on the No. 1 contender “Mile Hig” Mike Alvarado which will put at risks his undefeated records and current world rankings.
