Famous Filipino boxer, Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista who once failed to capture a world title during his title try against Daniel Ponce de Leon five years ago.

There are some speculations already even before he was defeated by the Mexican, he was eyed as the future superstar Filipino boxer and will probably follow the footsteps of boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.

Right after his loss against the Mexican champion, Bautista’s career turned shaky. Aside from his defeat, he also suffered a career-threatening hand injury and also suffered his second defeat against Heriberto Ruiz in 2008.

Due to his previous defeats, Rey Bautista wanted to prove something as he turned 26-years-old, all he wanted is to become a world champion.

The no. 4 ranked boxer in the International Boxing Federation (IBF), Rey Bautista was looking for two options, he can challenge for the WBO Featherweight title or have a rematch with crowned WBC Featherweight titlist Daniel Ponce de Leon.

Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista’s fight with Daniel Ruiz is the supporting main event to the world title bout featuring AJ “Bazooka” Banal (28-1-1, 20 KOs) and Pungluang Sor Singyu (42-1, 27 KOs) for the vacant WBO bantamweight strap.

Jason Pagara (29-2, 18 KOs) will be feature also to depend his WBO International light welterweight belt against unbeaten Miguel Antoine (17-0-1, 9 KOs).
