The Philippine team’s offense collapsed in the final quarter of their semi-finals match against Iran as they were dominated by the Iranians starting from the third quarter up to the final quarter of the game.
The semi-final match between the Philippines and Iran ended with the final score at 77-60 in favor of the Iranians.
Smart Gilas’ first five players were already rested at around 2 minutes left before the game ended as the Iranians were able to maintain the lead that they even got it to 20 points advantage.
The three-point shootings of the Philippines did not sunk in for the Smart Gilas as they will settle for the Battle for Third against the winner of the Qatar vs. Japan match-up.
Iran on the other hand continued to dominate the tournament as they were the only unbeaten team in the competition. Iran will be the first team that got the ticket to the Finals of the FIBA Asia Cup.
