Shakira and his long-time partner Gerard Pique are expecting their first child. The Colombian pop star Shakira confirmed on Wednesday that she was pregnant with FC Barcelona star Gerard Pique, their first-born.
Before the confirmation made by Shakira, there are stories speculating already that the singer was already pregnant and it already gone viral for the past few weeks.
According to the official website of Shakira she was quoted as saying that “As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby!” Shakira said in a statement on her website.
Although there is no confirmation yet with regards to the due date of their first born baby, the Grammy Award winner have already made some preparations in welcoming her first-ever baby.
Shakira popularized the song “Whenever, Wherever” and “Hips Don’t Lie” stated also the she would not participate in the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile Shakira’s partner Gerald Pique played as a center-back for FC Barcelona will be out for two to three weeks after he injured his left foot in Barcelona’s win at home against Spartak Moscow in the Champions League 2012-2013.
