The Philippine Azkals bow down to the lowly Laos National Football team and suffered it’s first loss in the three-nation ASEAN tour after they have successfully defeated Singapore last September 7 and scored a draw over Cambodia.
Azkals’ veteran defender Rob Gier was able to secure the lone of the Azkals at injury time to put the Azkals at the scoreboard with 1 goals against the 2 goals scored by Laos all from the penalty box area.
The Philippine Azkals have wrapped up their ASEAN tour and currently preparing for the upcoming Independence Day Cup to be held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Philippines will hosts, Taiwan, Macau and Guam for the four-nation meet which was previously held in Taiwan as the Long Teng Cup. The Azkals will be busy for the entire month of September before embarking on a middle eastern tour in October.
All of the Philipine Azkals is part of the preparation for the highly-anticipated 2012 Suzuki Cup to be held in Thailand this coming November.
