Azkals vs. Laos Preview FIFA International Friendly (September 10, 2012)

The Philippine Azkals will face today the lowly Laos, to wrap up their three-match Asean tour after they successfully defeated powerhouse team Singapore, their only win since 1991.

The Philippine Team used the availability of the most prominent midfielder in the team, Stephan Schrock who have issued two important (–foul word(s) removed–)ists to put the Philippines on top and won against Singapore with the final score at 2-nil.

Although the Azkals will be playing without three of their most important players because Phil and James Younghusband have returned to the Philippines to attend their family matters while Jerry Lucena was called back by his team in Europe, the Azkals depth in bench will provide the much needed support to win their game against Laos.

The Laos National Football Team is not that as good as the Singaporeans but the team is really improving for the past few years. Laos currently ranked at the 193rd spot while the Philippines currently ranked at the 150th spot. Although in the friendly match rankings is not important but the most important part is to secure a win.

Laos is currently on the build-up as they have hired the service of Japanese coach,  Kokichi Kimura since July 2012, to prepare the team on their journey to the qualification rounds of the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup where the Philippines have already entered and was seeded.
