Philippine Azkals team skipper Chieffy Caligdong scored the first goal for the Philippines early in the game at around 8 minutes to put the Azkals 1-nil against the Singaporeans.
The Singaporean controlled most of the possessions in the early part of the game but the Azkals responded with a counter-attacked, the midfield of the Philippine Team was superb especially with the inclusion veteran Stephan Schrock who have already shown magnificent ball handling skills.
The counter attacked by the Philippine from a well-defended back court of the Azkals was the starting point of an early score from Chieffy Caligdong.
