The Philippine Azkals was able to controlled the tempo of the game in the first half of action although it lasted more than the regular 45th minutes because of injury time added to it.
The Azkals have clear chances but failed to score during the first half. One of the positive news happened with the Philippine Azkals was the lifting of the suspension to co-skipper James Younghusband and the coach of the Philippine Azkals Coach Michael Weiss and they were allowed to see action against Cambodia.
The Cambodians have their chances especially during the 34th minutes when they were able to make a counter-attacked but it was Rob Gier’s time to shine as he made a magnificent tackle to dispatched the ball out of target.
At around 33rd minutes, Phil Younghusband managed to escaped the Cambodian defender but failed to score. Chieffy Caligdongs’ chance at around 4oth minute was the most perfect shot on target but was saved by the goalkeeper.
The score ended with both team without score.
