LA Tenorio: 34th Jones Cup MVP Interviewed by Jessica Soho Video

LA Tenorio, one of the smallest man on the floor during the title-game between the United States and the Smart Gilas Pilipinas was declared as the Most Valuable Player of the 34th Jones Cup according to a news report from GMA’s State of the Nation.

The 5 foot 8 point guard from Alaska Milk was the main reason why the Philippines successfully dominated the Jones Cup and eventually brought home the gold medal after a 14-year drought. The Philippines last title was won during the 1998 Jones Cup through the efforts of the Philippine Centennial Team coached by Tim Cone.

The Philippine Team was able to reclaim it’s lost glory at least in the Jones Cup and they were able to defeat one of the toughest title contender in the tournament the depending three-time champion Iran.

The Smart Gilas 2.0 was able to come back from an early lead by the Americans during their last game through the effort and leadership of LA Tenorio. He grabbed some of the most precious rebounds and most of all final points of the Philippines to take the lead at 76-75.
