The Mighty Persians dropped their current lead in the 34th Jones Cup as they suffered a back-to-back defeat against the Philippines and now the South Korean Team were able to contained the depending champion.
Iran was defeated by South Korea with a smashing outside shooting and inside depending of their big man. The Iranians were trailing in almost every quarter of the game.
The Iranians will now bid goodbye to the title they held for three-years in a row after their second defeat in the Jones Cup.
The game ended with the final score of 82-73 in favor of the South Koreans who now climbed on team standings with 5-2 records and tied with Iran at third place.
The win by the South Korean is a welcomed development for both the United States and the Philippines who is now vying for the title. The Philippines needs just one win to secure the second place or probably the title.
If the Philippines will be defeated by Taiwan, the United States will secure a solo lead and the championship and a three-way tie will happened between the Philippines, Iran and South Korea at 5-2.
Hopefully the Philippines Smart Gilas will win this one for the Philippine flag.
