Smart Gilas will be facing today one of the dominant but struggling Lebanese Team for the fifth straight basketball game in the recently held 34th Jones Cup in Taiwan. The Philippines have an edge against Lebanon in terms of team standings.
Smart Gilas is currently ranked at the top spot tied with the league-leader and depending champion Iran with a 4-0 win-loss card and the only two teams that are undefeated since the start of the competition.
Lebanon was struggling during the first four games where they suffered early consecutive defeats in the competition. Lebanon was able to score a win against Chinese Taipei B yesterday with the final score at 67-88 to improved their standing at 1-4 win-loss card.
Lebanon was first defeated by Iran followed by South Korea, Jordan and Chinese Taipei A.
