Gary David became the hero of the Smart Gilas Pilipinas because of his heroic back-to-back two pointers to defeat the South Korean with the final score at 82-79. The Philippine basketball team have already made a tremendous win against South Korea, the team that always defeated the Philippines in most of it’s crucial game in Asia.
The South Korean side was leading with 12 points in the final quarter of the game but the Smart Gilas was able to contained the South Koreans to secure a win and continued to dominate the tournament with a total of three straight wins.
Smart Gilas now tied with the depending champion Iran with a 3-0 win-loss card. The team is scheduled to face another threat from Japan tomorrow, August 22, at around 5:00 PM.
