The Philippines largest mobile phone network service, Smart Communication Inc. will finally launch their 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) Network this coming August 25, 2012.
Some details of the highly-anticipated launch of the most advanced communications network in the world today were already released by Smart. Smart will initially offer the Huawei E392 USB LTE Stick for free at P3,500.00 a month.
The LTE Service will be initially available in Metro Manila with the following locations:
- Taguig – The Fort
- Makati City – Salcedo and Legaspi Village
- Quezon City – Cubao, UP Diliman, ADMU
- Pasig City – Ortigas
- Mandaluyong
- San Juan
- Pasay City – SM Mall of Asia
- Manila – Binondo

The Philippines will be getting its first serving of LTE via Huawei LTE dongles. The Smart LTE is a wireless telecommunication standard capable of ultra-fast data-transfer speed of 100 Mbps and beyond, depending on the device used.
Our more fortunate brothers and sisters from Singapore and Japan pony up approximately P3,400 and P2,100 (for 3GB) for LTE connections, respectively. In the United States, monthly LTE rates are about P500 for every gigabyte.
Meanwhile the official website of Smart Communication have already made the LTE site live for the past few days. The site indicates how much longer the netizens will have to wait before getting their first local taste of LTE.
Early adopters were allowed to drop their names and contact details and download Smart’s virtual invite to its LTE launch.
