Philippines Women Softball Team Bring Home ‘Softball World Series’ Title

The Philippine delegation to the London 2012 Olympics have failed to made a significant achievement in sports but there’s an positive report on Philippine team’s achievement. The Manila women’s softball team take home the Philippines’ first Softball World Series Title.

The title was awarded to the Philippines’ Manila Women Softball Team in the recently concluded Big League Softball World Series last August 9, (PST).

The competition was held in Kalamazoo, Michigan. According to the Philippine Head Coach, Ana Santiago before the highly-anticipated championship series she told her girls the latest calamities that struck the country.

Although the players worried about the situations of their respective families, but according to their head coach, they should concentrate first on their game, and dedicate it for their those victims.

The Philippine Team bannered by Manila’s best softball players beat the team from powerhouse California with the final score at 14-2, an amazing achievement for the Philippine delegation.

It was the first time that the Philippines won the Softball World Series Title aside from the fact the Philippines have previously won  the Junior edition of the Junior League Softball last 2003.

The President of the Manila Little League Charter and the current Manila Councilor Che Borromeo, they have seen the determination of the Philippine delegation during the early days of the competition. The Manila Little League Charter is the major sponsor of the Manila Women’s Softball Team.

The mainstream media may not make this kind of report as viral compared to the Olympic sports or any other sports that have major exposure but it will definitely touch the hearts and minds of every Filipinos worldwide.
