Rihanna Sues Former Accountants Mitnick and Gounis for Millions of Losses

Pop star Rihanna has sued her former accountants for mismanaging the singer’s finances, including claiming they earned huge commissions from concert tours that resulted in her losing millions of dollars.

Rihanna filed a lawsuit against his former accountants Michael Mitnick and Peter Gounis of accounting firm Berdon LLP for losing million of dollars on her income.

The lawsuit was filed in Manhattan federal court on Thursday through Rihanna’s tour company Tourihanna in an unspecified amount of compensatory damages and loss of earnings.

The 24-year-old, Rihanna first filed the complaint on Tuesday ahead of the July 4 celebration. According to the complaint which claimed that the firm caused “significant financial losses” from 2005-2010 by charging “exorbitant” commissions from Rihanna’s concerts.

Rihanna accused the accounting firm Berdon of mishandling Rihanna’s foreign and domestic taxes and failing to monitor unpaid song royalties.

The two accused accountants have already left the firm and could not be reached immediately for comment, the spokesman for Berdon, Michael Tasch, could not be reached for comment also.
