The San Antonio Spurs managed to score a Game 1 victory against the OKC Thunder and continued their winning streak with the final score at 101-98. Manu Ginobili led the Spurs attacked with an impressive playoff-high 26 points and giving the Spurs it’s 19th victory in a row to tie the NBA’s record for the longest playoffs wins.
The game 1 between the Spurs and the Thunder put the league-leading Thunder as underdog tags in the Western Conference Finals series. Kevin Durant led the Thunder in scoring pouring out with a total of 27 points while Russell Westbrook added with 17 points.
The San Antonio Spurs match the fourth-longest streak in NBA history set by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2001, and they are one win away of surp(–foul word(s) removed–)ing the record for their Game 2 on Tuesday night.
Tim Duncan had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Tony Parker shook off a dismal start to finish with 18 points. But it was Ginobili who steered the Spurs to strike first in a highly anticipated matchup of the West’s top two teams for practically the entire regular season.
