Lady Gaga’s first night at The Arena of SM Mall of Asia rocks the Filipinos and defies the Christian religious groups who were protesting the mother monster to hold a concert in Manila. The packed venues which was estimated to accommodate more than 16,000 setting audiences made it’s inaugural openings with a Lady Gaga concerts.
Filipino celebrities joined the crowds of Lady Gaga’s supporters during her first night concert in Pasay City. Lady Gaga arrived on stage riding a black stallion. He made an appearance also from inside a womb belting out one of her most popular song “Born This Way.”
Here are some of the statement made by Lady Gaga during the concert:
I am not an alien. I am not a woman. I am not a man. I am not a creature of your government, Manila. I am all you dreams. I am all your potential. Let me be all your insecurities and your fears. I am your future.
Everything that makes you sad, [everything that] makes you angry. I am you, little monsters. Tonight is not about making a statement. Tonight is us all coming together because we believe we were all born this way.
Some people say I stand for things that are bad. The truth is, I want the best for every single one of you. My lifestyle is like one whole performance of liberation… for those of you who aren’t free. Take this opportunity to free yourself.
During most of her performance Lady Gaga were wearing an unusual dress unlike her previous appearance. Some people thought that Lady Gaga was wearing a Filipiana-inspired dress, but it wasn’t Filipiana but an Armani dress.
One of the most memorable event during her first day of concert when she ride a motorbike and on her back seat is the Philippine flag waving. Lady Gaga was also emotional when she said that “it’s more than the music; it’s about standing up for all those who can’t stand up for fear of being bullied, referring to those who are still in the closet.” Lady Gaga said.
