The much-coveted title of the Bb. Pillipinas 2012 was given to candidate #18 Miss Janine Marie Tugonon from Bataan. The 22-year-old UST graduate was crowned as the 2012 Miss Philippines-Universe in the recently held coronation night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday night, April 15, 2012.
Miss Janine Tugonon was able able to impressed the panel of judges in the interview portion during the semi-finals yesterday night. She was questioned by People Magazine CEO and publisher Jose Manuel Romuadez.
The question goes “Many women nowadays forgo a happy family life for a successful career. How do you feel about this?”
The cum laude graduate from UST answered intelligently and was quoted as saying that “I believe that women have the right to choose with what they want to do but for me you have to go for what God had called you to do whatever it is between the two. You must do whats your purpose in this world, ” Tugonon said.
The winner also emphasized strong faith and obedience and everything will go smooth. Tugonon will bring home the crown of the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe that was previously held by Shamcey Supsup, a finalist of the Miss Universe 2011 beauty pageant.
