Chandra Bahadur Dangi was declared by the official from Guinness Book of World Records as the shortest man ever lived. The 72-year-old Nepalese takes the record from the formerly declared shortest man from the Philippines, Junrey Balawing.
The 21.5 inches, Chandra Bahadur Dangi is about the size of a toddler and was slightly bigger than the plaque he has recently received from Guinness Book of World Records.
Chandra was so happy with the recognition given to him. According to the people close to Chandra he was not working outside his house, instead he was just doing household chores. The newly-declared shortest man have never been into a serious illness that’s the reason he was not discovered.
Chandra Bahadur was declared also as the oldest man to received such recognition at an age of 72. According to Guinness World Records team measured Chandra Bahadur Dangi at 54.60 centimeters (21.5 inches), declaring the 72-year-old even shorter the previous title holder, Junrey Balawing, from the Philippines, who stood at 23.5 inches at the age of 18 last year.
The newly crowned shortest living man and the oldest, shortest living man was brought to the capital of Kathmandu and was measured by Guinness officials. It was his first time to ride an airplane and reached the capital of Nepal.
He was even unawared of the record and know nothing about the Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. Before his declaration as the shortest living man overthrowing Junrey Balawing the title, another Nepalese named Khagnedra Thapa Magar was declared earlier as the shortest man in the world.
