The Philippine Azkals will battle it out against the U-23 Olympic National Team of Uzbekistan this coming February 11, 2012. The game will be telecast live on Studio 23 at around 11:30 PM and will kick-off at exactly 12:00 midnight (Philippine Time).
The Azkals which will be spearheaded by its Seniors Team reinforced by some players from Europe including its latest addition Fil-German Denis Wolf which shows significant contributions during the Azkals charity game against Incheon Citizen FC.
Regular Azkals players such as Phil and James Younghusband arrived already in Dubai to lead the team together with the most prominent local player Chieffy Caligdong form Barotac Nuevo, Ilo-ilo.
The Azkals line-up against the Uzbekistan U-23 is not as solid as expected but the management were still trying to contacts the player who were based on Europe if they can come to the game against Uzbekistan.
Neil Etheridge will not be available because of club commitments but he will try to be present when the team will be facing the Australian U-23 team this coming February 16, 2012. Midfielder Stephan Schrock is not available due to injuries.
Meanwhile the Uzbekistan U-23 team is one of the toughest team to match the Azkals. Right now they are on top of the Group B match on the on-going Asian Qualifier for the 2012 London Olympics. The Uzbekistan U-23 Team held Australia U-23 team scoreless when the two teams last met.
Uzbekistan Seniors Team on the other hand is one of the toughest team to beat in Asia having ranked number 4 during last years Asian Cup. They made it to the semi-finals after they brought down Jordan with 2-0 win but was defeated by Aust
