Tim Duncan, one of San Antonio’s Spurs pride utilized most of his time during the summer bringing his jump shots techniques at the next level.
He was recognized as an MVP twice. Moreover, this 13-time All-Star basketball player gained a score of 24 leading the Spurs to dominate the battle over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. The game ended with a 102-91 in favour of the Spurs.
Duncan shared that he dedicated his time in improving his jump shots and increasing his ability to shoot consistently. The Sunday night victory paid his intense training.
Spurs best man on (–foul word(s) removed–)ist, Tony Parker, contributed got 17 points and had given 9 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists for his team. He had achieved the 9-0 record as well.
Rookies also did not come up last in sharing effort. DeJuan Blair contributed a score of 14 while Kawhi Leonard scored 12 points. These points were most gained in the fourth quarter.
The gathered team effort of Spurs made it difficult for the Suns to outrun them in their game that night.
Steve Nash and Grant Hill, two of Suns’ best players were back on the game. They were not in attendance on their last game with New Jersey. Nash had a right quadriceps contusion. Meanwhile, Grant Hill suffered a right quadriceps tendon strain.
Despite some injuries, Steve Nash garnered 20 points during the game. However, Grant Hill gave only 4 points on his return.
The Suns also dominated during the earlier quarters yet the Spurs accumulated six points straight shots. It was noted that most of the scores were from the 17-foot jumper, Duncan who seemingly controlled the game during the last quarter.
On the other hand, Gregg Popovich, the coach of the Spurs said that the defense of his team was consistent during the night’s event and that it made the team Suns to score less.
Duncan said that there team had great improvements. Its progression became the weakness of the Phoenix that night. It had been made clearer especially when Duncan’s team out run their opponent during the second quarter enjoying the lead of 19 points.
Alvin Gentry, the coach of the Suns told reporters that they had given their best but it was difficult for them to grip the lead because the Spurs had already established a bigger lead.
Out of the 91 shooting attempts, the Suns made a 38 score whereas the Spurs had triumph at 40 points out of the 81 shots that the team had made.
Hardwork last summer was paid off. The Spurs celebrate a 9-0 at home this season.
