World-renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg will capture once again the audience emotion and sense of belonging in one of the most thrilling historical epic film that is comparable to his previous award-winning film “Saving Private Ryan.”

The “War Horse” story began its journey as a children’s book by Michael Morpurgo and then it conquered the London and New York stages to great acclaim with a stunning inventive puppetry. After its conquest of the modern-day stages it arrived to the hand of the legendary filmmaker and producer Steven Spielberg which (–foul word(s) removed–)embled a strong cast and a set of impeccable production values the touch of the producer’s legacy.

Spielberg’s products always capture the box-office and on this film with his collaboration with long-time partner Oscar-winning cinematographer Janusz Kaminski, the movie will surely make it big on the box-office. Scriptwriter Lee Hall and Richard Curtis made tremendous contributions of putting value to a certain creature that touched the lives of many people especially during a period of war and uncertainty.

“War Horse” tells about the journey of a spectacular creature named Joey, a remarkable horse that came into the lives of a struggling British family just before World War I. The father played by Peter Mullan buys the horse Joey at an auction. The alcoholic father insists that he can manage to care the horse although he knows for sure that the family can’t afford him.

The mother played by Emily Watson was so surprised with the action of her husband and insisted that it must be returned to the auction and get their family’s money back. The long-suffering mother agreed only agreed when their son Albert played by newcomer Jeremy Irvine begs to keep Joey and promises to train the wonderful horse.

Due to poverty and the inability of the family to maintain an expensive creature, the father ends up selling the Joey to the British Cavalry. The Captain played by Tom Hiddleston immediately recognized the horse abilities and greatness choose the horse Joey to be his personal mount and promises to take good care of him.

Meanwhile the caretaker of the horse Albert who fall in love with the remarkable creature promised to do his best and although devastated swears that they will meet again in the near future.

The horse Joey once again thrives on a new setting near the front lines. In no man’s land the astounding and remarkable brilliant of Spielberg which captures on camera every details of a war film. The overhead shot of a row of soldiers saddling up as one while hidden in a wheat field is brilliant. The battle scenes were perfect as putting someone in the middle of the war.

On the other hand Joey ended up with another battle and rivalry against the impressive horse belonging to the cocky Major which was played by Benedict Cumberbatch. A quick and thunderous thrill will surely excite the audience. The pounding of the hooves gets your heart pounding as well.

As the story goes by, Joey ended up living on a farm with an adorable but sickly French girl played by Cecile Buckens and doting grandfather (Niels Arestrup) the only problem is that he was captured by the German enemies and was force to fight again in the battlefield.

The movie’s best scene was captured incredibly in the middle of the battle when Joey entangled in some barbed wire and rival soldiers the British and the German work together to free the horse. The scene once again proved how Spielberg captured the emotion of its audience and the value of a certain creature.

The Walt Disney Pictures release film “War Horse” is rated PG-13 for intense sequence of war violence. The movies running time is 146 minutes.
