Uh-oh. It seems like Samsung and Google are now on the peak of their plan. The South Korean multinational electronics and information technology company, Samsung Electronics is in final talk with Google about launching a television using the giant’s software platform by the next year!

But according to the President of  the visual display division Yoon Boo-keun, Samsung would not unveil the new model at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January.

Samsung Electronics will just be displaying the TVs featuring next-generation OLED,  the most popular type of flat TVs that displays produce crisp images and do not need backlighting, making them slimmer and more energy-efficient than LCDs.

Yoon Boo-keun said that they don’t have the plan to unveil it without elaborating on the schedule, saying only the firm was working with Google on the rollout.

Google currently comes built-in on certain Sony Corp television models and on Logitech International set-top boxes, which allows consumers to access online videos and websites on their TVs, as well as specialized apps such as video games, will let users surf the internet.

With the Samsung Google TV, one can check email and create social networks just as they do on computers and smartphones.

Sounds good, isn’t it?

Samsung’s Google TV service would differ from those of competitors. Yoon expected the global flat-panel TV market to grow by about 10 percent next year despite economic uncertainty, helped by sales growth in internet-connected TVs and replacement demand. He also said Samsung was looking to outperform the market next year.

Samsung hopes to sell 45 million flat-screen televisions this year, including 12 million smart models.

Analysts believe the US giant wants to further expand the reach of its Android operating system into televisions through partnerships with the world’s two largest television makers.
