On October 30, 2011 reality television star Kim Kardashian filed a divorced after 72 days of marriage to New Jersey Nets star forward Kris Humphries. The reason for the divorce is an irreconcilable differences.
The celebrity couple was married in a lavish ceremony filmed for television at a private real state in Sta. Barbara California last August of this year. The ceremony which was highly publicized cost a lot of money not only for Humphries but for the Kardashian family as well.
The 31-year-old Kardashian and his husband basketball star Kris Humphries who is just 26 years old had a pre-nuptial agreement that each one of them had to pay for its lawyers cost if anything happens to their marriage.
On her filing of the divorce case Kim Kardashian was quoted as saying that “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision,” the star said. “I hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don’t work out” Kim stated.
During their wedding which was attended by prominent names in Hollywood, such as Lindsay Lohan, Avril Lavigne and Eva Longoria. Her sister reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian, 32, and Khloe Kardashian, 27, served as maids of honour.
One of the interesting part of their relationship was during the engagement proposal made by Kris wherein he gave Kim one of the most precious gift he could ever give to his fiancee. A whooping 20.5-carat ring and spelling out “Will you marry me?” in rose petals.
The divorce of Kim Kardashian with husband Kris Humphries will be his second failed marriage after she divorced earlier with her partner music producer Damon Thomas in 2003.
