Charice immediately cancelled her Singapore concert with David Foster after knowing that her father, Ricky Pempengco was stabbed in San Pedro, Laguna on Monday.
Police authorities reported that the Glee Star’s father died on the spot at around 11:30 p.m. yesterday.
The Police Chief of San Pedro named Superintendent Kirby Kraft released a statement via a telephone interview saying that Ricky Pempengco had been stabbed in the chest.
The suspect was Angel Capili as identified by the San Pedro Police. As of the moment, thorough investigations are still being conducted in order to know the real story behind the incident.
Further reports tell that the 35-year-old suspect used a 12-inch ice pick to stab the father of Charice before midnight on Monday. The police added that the suspect was drunk during the incident.
During that time, Ricky Pempengco came to visit his friends from the said village and began having a drinking session. However, he left and went to the nearby store to buy a cigarette before the suspect came to stab him.
Reports said that despite the fact that Mr Pempengco have tried to walk away at that very moment, the drunken suspect still went back to stab the victim once again.
Because of the said news, Charice came to apologize to her fans in Singapore and immediately took a flight back to the Philippines to join her family in mourning for her estranged father.
The International Singing Sensation seeks for understanding and feels sorry as well because of the reason that she will not make it to perform in the David Foster and Friends Concert that was already scheduled in Singapore.
On the other hand, some reports were saying that personal grudges could possibly be the reasons why the incident had happened.
