
The Philippines considered as the 12th most populous country in the world with 94.9 million population welcomes yesterday one of the symbolic “7 Billionth Baby.”
Danica May Camacho, the daughter of Mr. Florante Camacho and Mrs. Camille Dalura were welcomed by her family with the glaring cameras from the media in the delivery room of Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Metro Manila.
The baby was the second child of Mr. & Mrs. Camacho, weighing 2.5 kilos (5.5 lbs.) Present during the delivery were top United Nations officials (–foul word(s) removed–)igned in the Philippines. They presented the child with a small cake.
The mother of Danica May Camacho, Camille Dalura whispered to her baby and was quoted as saying “She looks so lovely,” she adds further that “I can’t believe she is the world’s seventh billionth baby,” Camille Dalura stated.
Danica May Camacho will also received a scholarship grant for her study aside from the media coverage accorded to her. The parents of the 7 billionth baby will also received a livelihood package for them to enable to start a general store business.
Meanwhile the world’s symbolic 6th billionth Lorrize May Guevarra was also present after the delivery. She was born in 1999. She was 12 years old right now and studying at the sixth grade.
Lorrize May was quoted as saying “I am very happy to see this cute baby. I hope like me she will grow up to become healthy and well loved by everyone,” Guevarra said.
The real question we should be asking, is how much has really changed over the past few years? The population increased by 1 billion since 1999 ALONE! But really some segments of the population might be growing faster than others.
