A couple of weeks ago, the world have witnessed how Leila Lopes won the crown for Miss Universe 2011 carrying this title for Angola for first time.
Leila Lopes as Miss Angola made her country proud because of the fame she brought from one of the most admired beauty pageant across the world.
On September 13Â , the 25-year-old beauty from Angola dominated amidst the other 88 Miss Universe contestants from different parts of the world.
The Miss Universe 2011 venue was in Sao Paulo, Brazil where Lopes was crowned. But after such remarkable event, Lopes not just had a huge way for fame but was also involved in some controversies as well.
Lopes allegedly used fake documents to be able to join and win the Miss Angola United Kingdom on October of last year.
Infobae, an Argentinian newspaper had circulated a report which stated that Lopes it was a biased decision that Lopes had been allowed to join the competition for Miss Angola. Several reports were released online saying that she forged her documents to enter that October 2010 pageant.
On Lopes’ forged documents, it appeared that she was a student at a British school where she took a business management course which eventually qualified her to enter the said beauty competition in England.
A man mentioned to be Charles Mukano was the event organizer who reported about the fake papers. In addition to that, Infobae also stated that Mukano might have persuaded the judges to make sure that the crown will go to Lopes that time.
But according to an article published by the Manila Bulletin last September 16, the Miss Universe Organization did not acknowledge Mukano. The AOL Latino received that idea from the Miss Universe Organization according to a report.
Furthermore, some clarifications were made that it was Renato Guttler who stood as organizer of Miss Angola. The allegations against Leila Lopes had been denied as well.
Leila Lopes being the Miss Universe 2011 was followed by Miss Ukraine known as Olesia Stefanko, Miss Brazil Priscilla Machado, Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup and Miss China Luo Zilin respectively.
