US Storm Irene gets Stronger and may Lead to a Powerful Hurricane

While the storm Irene is reportedly getting stronger, the National Hurricane Center made a statement on Wednesday about a possibility that it would closely lead to major hurricane level. Based on several news sites, Irene is still gaining strength as it p(–foul word(s) removed–) through the south-eastern part of Bahamas likewise to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Further observations were made to monitor the movement of Irene at this time. The storm Irene is heading its way towards United States specifically in its areas in the northwest.

A forecast had been stated that the tougher Irene may lead to a Category 3 hurricane. Analysis from the hurricane center forecast map also tells that great winds will come along with an estimation of 110 mph in the afternoon of Wednesday.

This might threaten the nearby areas as floods are anticipated to occur. This past few days, the north-eastern part of the United States experiences heavy rains this summer season.

According to the National Hurricane Center Director that is based in Miami named Bill Read, there is a big possibility that Irene will soon be affecting Washington’s activity which is to unveil the Martin Luther King Jr statue. Washington currently experiences heavy rains as well.

On Saturday, the storm was also observed to head its way towards North Carolina that may last for a week.

With that, the government officials warn the people to prepare themselves for the possible hurricane situation. Some were already under evacuation command while others are asked to store some food, water and medicine supplies.
