Warrant will play the song "Heaven" in memory of Jani Lane

Former Warrant band singer Jani Lane was given a tribute by the members of his former band.

“We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Jani’s p(–foul word(s) removed–)ing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Jani was a very important part of our lives for a long time. We will always be incredibly proud of the music we created together. He was a true talent and will be missed by all of us”, quoted from the Warrant website.

According to Erik Turner-band guitarist and co-founder considers Jani’s loss to be the saddest moment for rock and roll. He never even thought of playing the song “Heaven” for the memory of Jani, when it was penned by Jani going back in year 1989.

The song “Heaven” will be dedicated in memory of Jani Lane in their Live Concert in Dakota. It was one of the band’s biggest hit and most successful single.

Jani Lane was 47-year old when he p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed away on Thursday evening at the Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills, CA. The cause of his loss was still unknown. Even though there is already an autopsy performed by L.A. County Coroner’s office, officials can’t still determined the cause. A toxicology test was also performed but it will take up to two months to get the result.

According to the report from TMZ.com, there was a half empty bottle of vodka and prescription medication found in Lane’s Hotel room. Lane was a heavy drinker according to his sister, and she believed that Lane did go to the said hotel just to drink. To trace back, the singer had several incidents of being alcoholic.

On August 24, there will be a memorial to be opened to public, said Obi Steinman- Lane’s friend and manager. Great White and L.A. Guns will also perform.
