In response to Blackberry’s announcement that they were willing to cooperate with the authorities in finding justice and seeking the people involved in the riot on the previous days happening in U.K., hackers defaced their website.

Hackers calling themselves as “Team Poison” attacked Blackberry’s website and had said that if Blackberry were to release information of their subscribers to the police, then they had warned that they are to leak the details they had stolen from the website including the data of the staffs.

The plan of releasing information of their subscribers came out after the riot.

Team Poison had also defaced the official Blackberry blog and as substitute, they had posted their threat. Furthermore, it was believed that part of the intrusion was that the hacker had utilized the website’s instant messaging services in planning out for the attacked that they had launched.

On the report published via bbcnews.com, it was reported that Team Poison had attacked Blackberry’s website in order to protect the innocent person who might be affected if they are to hand-in those information that they had from their users to the authority.

However, their response of threatening the blackberry does not mean that they are not after the welfare of those innocent people and businesses that were affected by the riot.

Quoted from Team Poison, “Innocent members of the public who were at the wrong place at the wrong time and owned a Blackberry will get charged for no reason at all.”

The information that they might be exposing to the public could be the names ,addresses and phone numbers of the staff working for Blackberry.
