Innate talents bestowed among many Filipinos continue to dominate globally. The world of entertainment has opened its doors to deserving Filipino performers that were mostly discovered by enduring big talent searches. And now, here comes another young singing princess who recently became a big winner in a TV contest held in Surabaya, Indonesia.
She is Fitri Cerado, a 7-year-old Filipina singer who won first place in Indonesia’s Superwani 2. Nearly 800 talented individuals attempted to have their luck in the earlier auditions for Superwani 2.
The Superwani 2 of JTV station in Indonesia is the counterpart of the Philippines’ hit TV show known as “Pilipinas Got Talent”. For about two months, Indonesia’s JTV station aired Superwani 2 which fascinated most of the Indonesian audiences who mostly casted their votes for Fitri.
Who could have thought that the little girl Fitri would rise above a huge number of contestants? Young as she is, it was her powerful voice which raised her to be on top during the Superwani 2 Grand Final. Fitri Cerado is another name to be included among the list of Filipino international singing sensation.
To get to know this young Pinay singer, Fitri Cerado was born on November 23, 2003 in Indonesia. Fitri’s parents were both Filipino overseas workers in Indonesia since 2003.
At the age of two, Fitri’s interest in singing is already visible. She had engaged herself listening in various Mozart piece even at her young age. This little girl loves to watch Indian music videos as well.
Her father Juanito Cerado Jr was Fitri’s first mentor in singing. In fact, it was Mr Cerado who decided to send Fitri in a music school which locally teaches piano as well as vocal lessons.
Fitri began joining several singing contests as young as three years old. Prior to Superwani 2, her name is always on the first place each time she joins a singing contest in either local or regional level.
Chubby little Fitri was observed to have a magnificent vocal range which notably astonished the judges during the Superwani 2 elimination rounds where she sang Niky Astria’s Panggung Sandiwara. That moment made her become Indonesia’s favourite contestant.
She was able to gather the most number of votes during the final contest. Her winning piece was Adaikan Kau Datang Kembali which was originally sang by Ruth Sahanaya. With that, Fitri is presently marked as the 7-year-old legendary singer in Indonesia. Indonesia’s JTV and TVRI often invite young Fitri as guest for some of their television programs.
At present, Fitri Cerado works for her upcoming album which will feature several gospel favorites such as “Amazing Grace”, “The Lord’s Prayer”, “Ave Maria” and famous Christmas songs like “Silent Night” and “The First Noel”. Fitri’s album is set to be released by the end of the year.
