Scotland Yard arrests LulzSec teenage spokesperson

Lulz SecurityIn their pursuit of hunting all those possible people behind the threading hacking activities taking off since April 2011, Scotland Yard Cyber Crime Unit had arrested an 18 year old teenager who was believed to be the spokesperson of “LulzSec or Lulz Security.”

Lulz Sec is one of the two groups of hackers who had rose to popularity after launching several high profile attacks to prominent websites may it be public or private owned.

“Topiary”, the 18 year old LulzSec spokesperson was arrested in a remote location in Shetland Island, Scotland. And he was believed to be the one who managed and controlled “LulzSec” Twitter feed with over 300,000 followers of just 6 weeks existence.

The real name of the teenager was not revealed by the authorities.

LulzSec before announcing their disbandment had claimed to be the group behind the attacks done against PBS and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Aside from that, they had also attacked gaming companies like Nintendo. (–foul word(s) removed–)ographic sites were also targeted.

LulzSec was noted to be the source of the popular internet-jargon “LOL” or laugh-out-loud for their attacks are simply for fun, jus for laugh.

Their attacks last April to May were part of the what they had said 50 days of rowing together.

In an interview via Skype before, after their revelation of disbanding, being the group’s spokesman, Topiary said that they are not disbanding because they are afraid of the authorities, however, they decided to quit because they were bored with themselves as well as the press were bored with them.

As part of the goal of finding those involved in the hacking incident, both the Federal Bureau of Investigation from the U.S and Scotland Yard of U.K had already arrested over 20 persons who were eyed as part of the hacking group, may it be from LulzSec or Anonymous.
