The Philippine National Football Team had lost to Kuwait Al-Azraq for the 2nd leg of the 2014 World Cup Qualifier 2nd Round of Elimination. The Final score was 2-1 in favor of Kuwait. The Azkals will now out of competition for the World Cup Qualifier but the experienced they gain against one of the toughest team from the Middle East will certainly be a worthy experienced for the Azkals.
The only player from the Azkals to score a goal for them was Stephan Schrock, the mid fielder defender who had been suspended earlier during the 1st leg of the 2nd round of qualifying round for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The Philippine Azkals have shown the determination and confidence during the first half of their game against Kuwait but during the 2nd half of the game their defense have taken a toll to their offensive maneuvers. The ball handling and good p(–foul word(s) removed–)ing capabilities of the Kuwaitis have put the Azkals on defensive mode during the 2nd half.
Kuwait’s counter attacking after failed attempts from the Azkals was also an added advantage to the Kuwaitis who have been using their skills and long p(–foul word(s) removed–)ing to break away the defense of the Azkals.
At around 61:59 the Kuwaitis have scored their first goal of the game from a defensive lapse made by the Filipinos. The Azkals looked tired during the 2nd half of the game. The attempts made by Guirado and Phil were all shorts and was unable to hit the target.
Kuwait have scored their final goal at the 80th minute and the Azkals were not able to reply back. Fresh legs for the Azkals have made it to the game like Ian Araneta but was not enough against the toughness of the Kuwaitis.
Kuwait will now move on to the next round of the World Cup Qualifying and their opponents will be determined by drawing of lots to be held in Brazil in the coming days.
