Tuesday, the family and friends of the late Amy Winehouse said goodbye to her. The funeral ceremony held at Edgwarebury Cemetery in north London was filled of prayers, tears, laughter and songs.
Together with the parents of the singer are close friends, band members and celebrities. Also there were producer Mark Ronson and media personality Kelly Osbourne, with her hair set beehive-high resembles the trademark of the singer.
English and Hebrew prayers were given in the Jewish ceremony and singer’s father Mitch Winehouse reminiscence some moments of his child. The loving father ended his message with touching words “Goodnight, my angel, sleep tight. Mummy and Daddy love you ever so much.”
The song “So Far Away”, a rendition of Carole King ended the ceremony. This song is one of the favorite of Winehouse.
Chris Goodman, family spokesman said “Mitch was funny, he told some great stories from childhood about how headstrong she was, and clearly the family and friends recognized the stories and laughed along,”
The singer’s recent boyfriend, Reg Traviss together with close friends and family proceed to Golders Green Crematorium for the cremation of the singer.
The twenty seven year old singer who battled addiction from drug and alcohol was found dead at her flat in London.
The autopsy still finds the death unclear. Police still waits for the results of toxicology tests that will take two to four weeks.
