
Manuel Marquez had just knock down Likar Ramos during their non-title bout as a preparation for his anticipated November duel with long-time rival Manny Pacquiao. The favorite Mexican fighter knocks down Ramos at around 1:47 mark during the first round of their Junior Welterweight bout.
Likar Ramos from Colombia was a southpaw and for Marquez his fight against Likar Ramos was a good preparation for his fight against Manny Pacquiao. Ramos did not live up to the expectations that the tune-up games against Marquez will be a challenge to the Mexican champion.
Fighting with a southpaw was an advantage for Marquez because he found it difficult to match the speed of Pacquiao who was considered as one of the most prolific southpaw fighter.
After the game against Ramos in which Marquez dominated the Colombian, he stated that right now he is good shape and ready for the fight against Pacquiao. He was quoted as saying “I just wanted to tell him to prepare himself.” Marquez said referring to Manny Pacquiao.
Manuel Marquez had improved his records to 53 wins 5 losses and 1 draw. Marquez had bowed that his upcoming fight with Manny Pacquiao will be a war. Marquez weight during his fight against Ramos was recorded at 138 pounds and he needs extra more pounds to reach the catch weight at 144 pounds against Manny Pacquiao.
