Christian Lopez: Caught Derek Jeter’s Home Run and 3,000th Hit Baseball (Video)

Christian Lopez is a 23-year-old cell phone salesman that became famous after he caught the precious ball that was hit by Derek Jeter during the Yankees Home Run and 3,000th hit. What is most interesting with the news is that Christian Lopez did not ask for anything instead he just returned the ball to Derek Jeter which was estimated to be worth as much as $250,000.

The lucky Yankee fan was a graduate of St. Lawrence University. Lopez had given back the historic ball to the rightful owner, the big Yankee fans gave back the ball Derek Jeter who just hit his 3,000th home runs.

Michael Kay the announcer during the game asked Lopez why he didn’t asked anything for ruturned, Lopez replied that “He deserves this, he’s worked hard for this…I’m not the type of person to take this away from him,” said Lopez.

The gesture of Lopez deserved something more than just accolade. According to Kay, Lopez will given four tickets for every remaining game at Yankee stadium.

He received also (–foul word(s) removed–)ortment from New York Yankees which includes bats and jerseys and a personal meeting with Jeter who was so impressed with the way Lopez gave back the precious baseball.

Derek Jeter who hit his 3003rd home run last Sunday enables him to be listed at the 3000th hit plateau. He was the 28th player to do such spectacular feat.
