Nowadays, Filipinos strive to become globally competitive when it comes to academics. When talking about the country’s ability to teach the English language among students, Philippines are no longer left behind.
Recently, a report had been declared that two of the country’s famous universities were included among the top 50 list of the highly recommended English teaching institutions from across the world.
Despite the excellence of various universities worldwide, the University of the Philippines (UP) together with the Ateneo de Manila University were able to raise their names in line with the 50 best performing institutions when it comes to English lessons.
With this good news released by the QS World University Rank, the two Philippine universities currently possess evidences that they truly provide their students the best English teachers. And since it is an international recognition, one can now pause and may choose not to say that the country’s teaching for the English subject is deteriorating.
It cannot be denied that there are many competitive schools in the countries of Asia, United States and Europe. But such fact did not hinder UP to be on the rank 34 followed by the Ateneo which was placed on the 35th place. The mentioned rankings came out from the survey of Quacquarelli Symonds 2011.
The Quacquarelli Symonds 2011 is authorized to (–foul word(s) removed–)s the numerous international institutions from all over the world considering the quality of their academic teachings as well as the rate of the employers.
Possessing the best English teachers, UP collected a score of 43.7 points whereas the Ateneo de Manila University gathered 42.8 points. Those scores have been surveyed, (–foul word(s) removed–)sed and compared from all other universities worldwide.
Meanwhile, the country’s De La Salle University was ranked on the bracket of 51-100. However, the University of Santo Tomas took its place on the bracket of 101-150 when it comes to the quality of teaching the English subject.
