Today marks another milestone and history for the Philippines.
Rizal Memorial Stadium will witness the momentous event that will either make or break of Philippine Azkals or Sri Lanka’s Brave Reds dream of advancing to the next level of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier and be able to compete against Kuwait.
Fans and supporters for both teams are now on their way to watch the big event which is set to start 3:30 this afternoon in Manila, Philippines.
In an interview, the Nationals are indeed excited to play in front of the Filipino audience. They had said that the feeling is really different when they are in their homeland with thousands of supporters that will surely crowd the venue.
Aside from the supporters, people close to the hearts of Azkals are also expected to grace the event.
Rumored girlfriend of Phil Younghusband, actress Angel Locsin is confirmed to watch the match. James Younghusband’s girlfriend also will be present. Families of Neil Etheridge and Nate Burkey will also be around.
Moreover, the Azkals “Barkers” or “Kaholeros” had promised to be present in this second leg to support for the Azkals.
Meanwhile, Brave Reds despite the fact that when it comes to supporters they know that they will have less, do not mind the crowd disadvantage, for they are focus on what to do and how to win this game. When asked about the tactics and strategy that they are to use in today’s second game, South Korean coach, Jang Jung said while laughing , “Why would I say [it] here? You come tomorrow then you’ll know.”
Both teams are ready to kick for a goal in order to advance for the next level of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier and as to the Philippine Azkals, the Nationals said that for this game, they are all set to give their 100% best.
For both Chieffy Caligdong and Aly Borromeo and of the rest of the Philippine Azkals, this game is not just against Brave Reds but this is also for Kuwait.
