Via Twitter feed from ANC (ABS-CBN News Channel), Team Azkals are now heeding to the venue for the leg 1 of the home and away match up against Brave Reds of Sri Lanka, therefore, there is another reason to go home early today and lucky are those who works in regular working hours for by 5:30 this afternoon, the game will kick off.
Both teams are definitely prepared and ready to make their country proud, Azkals claimed that they are in a better advantage right now after the two-week training and tuned-up games held in Germany.
Meanwhile, Brave Reds of Sri Lanka is confident to win the first leg of the qualifier which will be played in a home-away format. Whether they would admit it or not, Brave Reds for sure is also pressured to win the 1st leg since they are playing in their homecourt, in the 25,000 seater Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Earlier reports said that the best way for team Azkals to win the game is to set early advantage and scores, and to attack Sri Lanka’s team putting them to defensive situation.
This football face off is part of the long process for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. For the record, Azkals (156) standing in the FIFA is much better than that of Brave Reds for Sri Lanka(169).
After the first leg, leg 2 will be held in the Philippines on July 3 at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
If Azkals will be able to get the win for this match, they will be facing Kuwait.
The last face-off between Sri Lanka and Philippine Team in Football happened 15 years ago. And now, Philippine team says that its payback time. They wanted to show the world and to their opponent that they are no longer the same team that was defeated in the year 1996.
