Today marks the most awaited moment for the Philippine Azkals to face the Indonesian football team called the Brave Reds. The event will happen in Colombo, Sri Lanka this Wednesday within a 25,000-seater area known as the Sugathadasa Stadium.
After spending a two-week training in Germany, both teams will strive to kick at their best to open their doors towards the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
This has been another challenge for the Philippine football team as they are about to clash for the Round 1-1st Leg with the Sri Lankan Brave Reds this Wednesday to enter the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
Each player of the team Azkals went for thorough practices as they took trainings to develop more enhanced moves that will bring out the an improved team solidity.
Members of the team hold the hope to beat the Brave Reds today. One of them is Paul Mulders who is known to be a half Filipino half Dutch player of the Azkals. Mulders believes that the thorough training they had in Germany is a big help for them to gain an advantage over the Sri Lanka football players. Mulders strongly believes that each of them actively cooperated on their hard training.
Even Aly Borromeo as the Azkals team captain added that their training in Germany made them build a better team cohesion as they were trained to develop a more improved way of communicating as team players during the game. He also added that they will make use of their enhanced skills not just for their fight against Sri Lanka but for the upcoming match in Kuwait as well.
For the famous Phil Younghusband, his team possess a greater advantage than that of the Brave Reds holding the view that the Philippine Azkals plays better. Although he is saying that the Azkals could not underestimate the capacity of the Brave Reds, Younghusband positively stated that they got a big chance to win over today’s game.
Furthermore, Younghusband said that they must not become overconfident for their battle. As long as they will just have to stick with the view that they carry the name of the country. If they will love what they are doing, everything will flow smoothly.
On the other hand, one of the sports analysts known to be Ronnie Nathanielsz also believes to the idea that the Philippine Azkals will be there to challenge the capability of the Sri Lankan Brave Reds when talking about attacking defences.
Well of course, the Brave Reds also has their own way of training in order to beat their opponent. Like the Azkals, confidence plays a vital role for them to win against the Philippine team. Rohana Ruwanthilake being their team captain also have spoken that their team is set to give their best for the game knowing that the Azkals is rated higher than them.
Knowing that Indonesia already won over the Philippine on a football match 15 years ago, the Azkals will have to say that it is now their payback time.
