Pacman Resort in Boracay Island ordered by the Local government to be closed after it has violated the rules regarding the building of infrastructure in the Island.

According to officials of the local government of Malay, the West Cove Hotel also known as the “Pacman Resort” has violated the Section 301 of the National Building Code of the Philippines after they have constructed concrete structures in some of the coves and rocks in the Island in which the local government believe has damaged the ecosystem of the Island.

The said rule prohibits any person, firm or corporation to demolish or construct a building without getting a permit from the government.

The said resort is famous in the Island after it has named after the boxing Champ Manny Pacquiao by his close friend Crisostomo Aquino who is the owner of the resort.

The closure of the resort is now being mandated by the local government of Malay as Mayor John Yap has already singed the order.

The resort which operated last 2009 has already been given notice regarding its closure due to its violations it has committed in building infrastructures in the Island.

According to some officials, they have found out that since the “Pacman Resort” has started to operate they were not able to get a building permit and a license to operate in the Island.

On the other hand, the West Cove Hotel defended their side stating that they tried to comply with requirements needed to operate but it was the government of Malay who is rejecting it.

The Building authority has also ordered the officials of the “Pacman Resort” to destroy the infrastructure they have illegally erected on the Island. They will also file charges against the Resort in connection with their violations.
