
Twitter for the past few years relies mostly on third party applications for sharing of pictures and videos to sites such as Twitpic, Yfrog and Twitved now Twitter launched its own version. According to a post on twitter official blog last June 01, 2011. Pictures and videos were now directly posted together with a tweet.
All photos and videos are now viewable in twitter.com without leaving the site and go to another site. The service was made possible with the cooperation of photosharing site photobucket.com.
With the new feature twitter users will also experienced a more meaningful search results inside the twitter website. With pictures and videos which were considered as one of the valuable (–foul word(s) removed–)ets in an internet company it will add more functionality to the site.
In a related development Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey announced that they were currently on the deals with different wireless carriers for a possible text tweets, meaning mobile phone users can directly send sms and mms to the microblogging site.
