Her new album which was launch just this week in U.K had went to sales of 215,000 copies giving her the right to dethrone Adele, who was currently reigning in UK chart. And her album is indeed the best first-week album sales for 2011 in the United Kingdom.
Since Gaga is now sitting the number one spot in the chart, Adele’s second album called ‘21’ is following her. Prior to that, Adele’s album has been leading the chart for 16 weeks.
Lady Gaga is really creating a big wave in her field.
Quoted, Lady Gaga said upon hearing the news that her album is really doing well in UK: “I feel so honored to have the highest first week sales in the UK this year.”
Gaga also said that her first single for the new album “Born This Way” was written in Manchester. She was able to come up with the composition because she was so inspired with the shown confidence and bravery of her fans.
