To give fruit to all the efforts of creating a laptop that is “ultrathin”, Intel, the world’s leader when we talk about silicon innovation had come up to a product that combines thin laptops having the design from tablets.

The new blue print for this new product was set to be revealed on the Computex trade show held on Tuesday.

This ultrathin laptop will then be named as “Ultrabook”, a device as mentioned earlier is the outcome of the combine characteristic of laptop mixed with “features of tablets”. Apart from that, this new product is further described to be thin, light and elegant weighing just over two pounds.

However, aside from the target of launching a product that is thin and low cost, Intel stressed that their major priority as a producer is to provide security to their products and buyers.

Here are the physical attributes of the Ultrabook as reported by cnet.com. The Ultrabook has a thickness ranging to 20 millimeters or 0.8 inches with 20 mm upper limit.

Even if it would be thin and new innovation, Intel’s new product is not designed for high cost. Imagine that the bar is set not to exceed $1000.

As reported by cnet, Intel marketing chief Tom Kilroy had made the following remarks,””Many of the super-sleek devices today are quite pricey. The price points need to become more mainstream, and as volume ramps, say by the end of 2012, we think as much as 40 percent of the volume will be in this ultra category.”

Ultrabook is the result of many attempts to launch ‘ultrathin’ laptops that was then out in the market but ended unsuccessful.

Just like any other companies, Intel had been into launching of laptop before which they called CULV or the consumer ultra low voltage. However, launch two years ago, CULV was not a hit in the market. Same with what happened to Dell’s Adamo. Who just recently launched also the descendant of their product which they called Dell XPS 15Z.
