Riza Santos the former Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Housemate was adjudged the newly-crowned Miss World Canada on a coronation night last May 19, 2011 held at River Rock Show Theater in Richmond, British Columbia. He vested out 22 other contestants to bring home the most coveted title of Miss World Canada 2011.
Riza Santos is a Filipino-Canadian and a former Miss Earth Candidate and winner of Miss Photogenic during the Miss Earth 2006 edition held at the National Museum in Manila on Nov. 26, which paved the way for her entrance to the local industry as one of the celebrity housemate in Pinoy Big Brother of ABS-CBN.
After a brief stint in the local showbiz industry she returned to Canada and pursued her career as a student. Riza Santos is an engineering student at University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering. Presently working as a engineering student at Provident Ltd in Environment, Health and Safety.
With the win, she will be presenting Canada for the upcoming Miss World Pageant to be held in London in November 6, wherein she will surely met and compete with a fellow Filipino who will represent the Philippines also.
Riza Santos had done volunteer works for the Canadian Track and Field Special Olympics as a coach. She was also active as a member of the Lions Club International and Safe Haven Foundation.
Santos was planning also to join the Canadian Arm Forces. She want to be commissioned as an officer for the Canadian Forces Army Reserve after p(–foul word(s) removed–)ing the requirements needed for the course.
