Oklahoma City Hit by a Tornado and Killed Two People

Late Sunday when a tornado hit the town of Joplin in Missouri which carries a wind of up to 200 miles (320 kilometers) and has left 122 people dead and hundred more are missing. Days after, another disastrous tornado showed up in central Oklahoma in Tuesday which killed at least two people.

According to the officials, tornadoes slammed into Canadian County, Oklahoma, just west of Oklahoma City,

One of the Sheriff of Oklahoma, Sheriff Randall Edwards of El Reno was interviewed by the media and he confirmed that two people were killed in the incident.

“The tornadoes just went through our county less than an hour ago,” he said. “We’ve got multiple gas leaks. We’ve had several injured. Up to dozens.” People “blown off of (interstate) I-40.” Randall said in his interview.

A statement has already been released by Oklahoma’s Governor Mary Fallin, advising the public to stay indoors and watch or listen to radio for any updates.

Governor Fallin said in her statement that such tornado that struck them were huge and dangerous basing on the pictures taken when the tornado hit the ground and so people must stay undergrounds and be prepared if another one comes back.

Oklahoma City did not immediately have damage reports.

Mayor of the City said in his interview that so far, Oklahoma City has been spared but added that it’s too early to draw a conclusion. He also said that the metro area around us has been hit hard and this might affect their resources.
