The statement, “I am speechless. That’s my comment.”, had officially ended the anticipated match between the well-known senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago versus the PacMom- mother of Saranggani Representative Manny Pacquiao, Mommy Dionisia who had just celebrated her 62nd birthday recently.
The root of the clash between the PacMom and Sen. Defensor is the issue of RH Bill wherein Mommy Dionisia didn’t like the senators comment about her son’s stand of going against the Reproductive Health Bill.
Defensor added that she doesn’t think that it is needed to be taken further since the topic is silly. She even commanded the media that they will look for another opponent.
She didn’t like Defensor’s statement that Manny should not join nor get involve in the issue of RH Bill.
The Senator reprimanded the PacMan because according to her, they, the senators are not involving themselves in boxing.
Mommy Dionisia wasn’t able to hold her temper and in a separate interview for TV5 and ABS-CBN, unintentionally, she had raised her voice while protecting and speaking against Defensor’s statement striking her son.
She said that Mirriam should not scorn her son because he is a congressman.
Because of Manny’s vocal opposition to the government’s proposed Reproductive Health Bill, he is receiving both postive and negative feedbacks and he is having a group of supporters and foes coming from showbiz industry as well as in politics.
An addition to the growing issue linking to Pacquiao is the statement of Lea Salonga, a well known Pinay international star who is also vocal in supporting RH Bill.
Salonga said that before opposing the RH Bill, since he got millions of pesos, he should help the poor, his constituents who have no access.
Despite the criticisms, Pacquiao stands firm on his decision of not supporting the RH Bill.
